All Terrain Vehicle
Insurance
We know you love your all-terrain vehicle (ATV), whether
you're a rancher, hunter or trail rider. We also know that you want to
be covered if your ATV is stolen or badly damaged. Proper insurance can
help you protect your investment.
Many states require ATV insurance for vehicles operated on state-owned
land. Your homeowners policy might not cover you if you ride off your
own property. That's why ATV insurance is especially important.
Comprehensive Coverage
This covers the loss of your ATV and its Custom Parts and Equipment due
to theft, fire, vandalism, or other similar damage. You can choose the
dollar amount of Custom Parts and Equipment coverage and the deductible
that's right for you.
Collision Coverage
This covers significant physical damage to your ATV if you hit another
ATV, a tree, a parked vehicle, a big rock, a stump, a fence post or other
obstacle. Due to the rough nature in which many ATVs are used, collision
coverage does not provide coverage for scrapes, scratches, minor dings/dents
and other cosmetic/non-structural damage. Again, you choose your deductible.
Liability Coverage
This covers damage done to people or property and protects your assets.
You select the limits to suit your needs.
Uninsured and Underinsured Coverage
This relatively inexpensive coverage protects you if another rider causes
damage to you or your vehicle and has inadequate coverage.
How can you keep your insurance rates low?
Several factors will affect your insurance rates. You can't control all
of the factors that apply to you, but there are a few things you can do:
Ride carefully. If you have violations on your driving record or claims
on your policy, your rates will be higher. Choose your ATV carefully.
ATVs with higher displacement, or those that are considered more aggressive
machines, typically cost more to insure based on the history of claims
for those vehicles. Buy More ATVs! You'll receive a discount if you insure
more than one ATV on your policy.
