Mexican Travel Insurance
Before Crossing the Border:

What you need to know before you cross the border by land!

  • Buy Insurance for your vehicle.
  • Have all your documents ready.
  • Get your Lien holder authorization letter to take your vehicle to Mexico for the dates you are traveling. You get this letter by faxing a copy of your policy to them and written request to go to Mexico.
  • If traveling over 75 miles from the border or plan to stay in Mexico for more than 75 hours please DO NOT forget to purchase your tourist permit, the cost is $210.00 pesos and it’s for six months.
What documents do I need to enter Mexico? Travelers to and from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada will be required to have a passport or other secure accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States. This is a change from prior travel requirements and will affect all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not currently possess valid passports. This new requirement will also affect certain foreign nationals who currently are not required to present a passport to travel to the United States. Most Canadian citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and to a lesser degree, Mexican citizens will be affected by the implementation of this requirement.
